Getting Started

The focus of “Getting Started” is a model of how to begin the course. The goal is to engage students early and get them wanting more. Jumping into complex topics too early can disengage students. Making early personal judgment calls will disengage your students. You cannot afford to assume that certain pieces of fundamental knowledge are known. Financial topics are rarely discussed in the home and children are routinely shielded from money matters.
